As one of only a handful of lawyers in the country to be dual-qualified as a solicitor and FCILEx, and having been called to the Bar in 2012, I consider myself a well-established and highly achieved solicitor. My many qualifications and experiences have enabled me to develop and continually enhance my knowledge and expertise in a collection of different legal areas.
In my previous position, I was appointed the Managing Partner in an award-winning multi-disciplinary firm. During my time in this role, I dealt with the firm's overall management, practice, and day-to-day operations.
I am also currently practising as a lawyer at Partner level at a top national firm and I specialise in commercial, corporate, data protection law, employment/HR, and dispute resolution. In addition, I am also an accredited mediator through ADR. With regard to my corporate law practice, I am frequently engaged with corporate and employment restructuring, group simplification, post-merger integration, managed exit, and operational restructuring. Most notably, in fact, is my extensive understanding and dealings with Mergers and Acquisitions. In my handling of these, I have covered all aspects, from the due diligence process through to the drafting and producing Share Purchase Agreement and making arrangements in respect of completion. Further to this, I also possess a comprehensive understanding of significant company documentation, including shareholder agreements and articles of association.
Commercial law is a second predominant legal area of my practice, which entails drafting complex commercial agreements, which also includes supplier-level agreements and terms of business. During my practice, I have frequently lead my team of lawyers; a prominent example would include the occasion where I led my team in the reviewal of over 500 contracts over several months.
Further, I have significant experience in employment law and dispute resolution, with considerable skills in mediation and advocacy. In the past, I have regularly and consistently managed the employment litigation practice of my firm as a Tribunal Advocate. As an employment law specialist, I commonly advise companies on employee contracts, HR procedures and handbooks. I also have chaired disciplinary and grievance meetings on a number of occasions. In my many attendances at the Employment Tribunal, I have stood for both employees and employers. The cases I have covered span a vast scope of different disputes, of which I conducted the advocacy.
In the dispute resolution and litigation work I conduct, I represent my clients frequently in commercial cases. Such cases can include matters like complex commercial disputes, debt recovery, breach of contract, and even high-value data protection cases.
