Andrew joined Seth Lovis & Co in February 2013 and continues to expand on his professional negligence practice.
Andrew began studying law at A-level and went on to obtain his undergraduate degree at London Metropolitan University. Whilst undertaking his training, Andrew also completed his postgraduate qualification at the College of Law in Bloomsbury. Andrew trained at a Legal 500 firm where he was exposed to areas of law including commercial litigation, employment law, conveyancing, personal injury and clinical negligence, as well as being seconded to work as in-house Counsel for a FTSE 100 company.
After qualifying as a solicitor in May 2010, Andrew’s broad and diverse training saw him well placed to specialise in professional negligence. He has experience of dealing with high value, multi-track claims both at County Court and High Court level in addition to handling complex, multi-party litigation. Andrew has dealt with claims for negligence against solicitors, barristers, expert witnesses, architects, engineers, surveyors, accountants and financial advisors, amongst others.
Andrew is well versed in dealing with particularly difficult cases and is adept at analysing and clearly advising upon the often multifaceted factual and legal issues which arise from professional negligence claims. He has a diligent approach and great attention to detail despite what are usually vast volumes of papers which need to be reviewed in this area of practice. Andrew is acutely aware of the need for all his clients – both individuals and businesses alike – to progress their cases as swiftly as possible in order to attempt to secure a favourable outcome on the best possible terms.

The Claimant was an employee of an estate agent and commenced work in February 2011. There were a series of incidents which led to a breakdown of trust and confidence between the Claimant and his employer and, after a prolonged period of time of being badly treated, the Claimant resigned in September 2012. The Claimant subsequently approached the Defendant, a firm of solicitors, in October 2012 about bringing an employment claim.
Unfortunately, the Defendant failed to make full and proper enquires about all of the incidents which had been cited by the Claimant, or any other possible incidents, and thereby calculated limitation from an incorrect date. A claim was filed with the Employment Tribunal in November 2012 but was pleaded inaccurately and improperly made allegations which the Claimant had not intended to make.
The Claimant's claim was heard by the Employment Tribunal in February 2013 where the Defendant represented the Claimant. The Tribunal ruled that the Claimant's claim was not properly made out and, as a result, the claim was dismissed.
Andrew was instructed by the Claimant in March 2013 to bring a claim for professional negligence against the firm of solicitors. By early September 2013, after issuing proceedings at the High Court, the claim for negligence was settled for an amount which reflected the loss of the Claimant’s opportunity to obtain damages in the Tribunal against his former employer.
