I am a Partner and Head of our Commercial Property Department and I specialise in all types of commercial and residential property matters. I was previously the Senior Partner of Button Legal LLP, a practice which I ran successfully for 25 years until it merged to form the new firm of Band Hatton Button in 2013. I am now one of the six equity partners in the firm.
I was voted ‘Professional of the Year’ at the 2012 Coventry First “First Pro” awards and received the prestigious award at a dinner attended by over 300 members of the local business community.
I am also the immediate past President of the Warwickshire Law Society and the weekly columnist for ‘On the Button’ in the Coventry Telegraph Business section.
I live in Leamington Spa and am married with two children. I have a strong interest in fundraising and, over the years, have raised many thousands of pounds for worthy local charities.
One of my more recent ventures was a sponsored abseil which raised over £3,500 for Acorns Childrens’ Hospice Trust. I am also a trustee of two charitable organisations and a governor of a local school.
In my spare time I enjoys walking, reading and foreign travel. I am also passionate about classic cars and have a small collection including a Daimler, an E Type Jaguar, a Morris Minor and a Wolseley.

A COVENTRY solicitor is aiming for more success after scooping two top honours.
Nick Button, senior partner at Button Legal, in Warwick Road, who recently landed both the Legal Professional and Professional of the Year titles at the Coventry and Warwickshire First FirstPro awards, said he was looking to build on his award-winning exploits.
Mr Button, has run the practice for 24 years and said that, despite current tough trading conditions, he was optimistic about the future.
“Winning the two awards recently was a great honour, although it did come as a bit of a surprise,” he said.
“I felt it recognised not just mine, but the efforts of all of us at the practice, particularly given the challenging economic climate that we all currently face. “I’m confident it will give us even more impetus to develop the practice further and enjoy more success in the future.”
Senior partner, Nick Button, received the coveted First Pro Professional of the Year award at a prestigious ceremony on 26th April held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena. Having won the Legal Professional prize Nick then went on to receive the overall Award from Chris Hughes creator of Top Gear Live beating 24 other finalists.
