Ashtons Legal

I am a Solicitor specialising in Family Law.

I am experienced in dealing with family disputes which involve divorce and financial matters arising from separation, dealing with contentious cases, but also advising parties who are going through the mediation process. I also deals with cases involving children. I deal frequently with cases involving children from the collaborative approach such as advising on and drafting parenting plans between parties on separation, to much more contentious cases involving Court Orders concerning who a child will live with and spend time with. I have advised on cases concerning relocation of children and have experience of dealing with cases involving domestic violence and harm to children. I have also represented wider family members in Court applications and have represented Special Guardians and foster carers in Court applications.

I am based in Ashtons Legal's Cambridge office.

Experience

I help people through the difficult process of separating from their partners and I’m committed to making this process as smooth as possible. As a specialist Family Solicitor, I am able to assist my clients in dealing with any issue arising from a family conflict.

The main focus of my work is the financial element of a relationship breakdown. This can involve dealing with a variety of issues including the family home, family businesses and farms, inheritances and pensions. It can also involve consultation with other professionals as to tax implications and financial planning. I can help you to consider the implications of the options available in order to meet your priorities. I can help and advise you at the outset of relationships on Pre-Nuptial agreements and Cohabitation agreements.

I also advise lawyers outside of the jurisdiction on the implementation of foreign pension orders in relation to English Pensions. In these types of cases, I find it to be particularly useful to have a discussion at an early stage so that you can be aware of the procedural difficulties from the outset.

Ashton KCJ chief executive Edward O'Rourke said: "These appointments enable us to expand further our commercial presence in Cambridge but also to serve our private client base.
