She qualified as a lawyer with Alsop Wilkinson (now DLA Piper), and then became Legal Manager at Laura Ashley, where she gained commercial legal experience on an international level, managing contract negotiations, corporate acquisitions and disposals, and managing Laura Ashley’s Global Intellectual Property portfolio.
Roz moved to O2 in 1998, where she acted as Legal Adviser and Company Secretary. There she worked on software licence agreements, distribution agreements, and procurement contracts. She advised the business on legal compliance for TV, radio and print advertising. In 2001 Roz was appointed Legal Director for Burger King UK where she acted as a member of the UK Executive Board and headed a legal team providing legal support for the UK business and functional expertise and co-ordination across Europe on consumer law and purchasing.
At Burger King she developed her commercial and legal experience of the franchising sector, working extensively with franchisees to help them develop their businesses, dealing with franchise terminations and managing franchisee disputes. She also provided support and advice on the company’s UK property portfolio of around 150 sites.

In its 2018 UK legal rankings, Chambers & Partners said “Roz Goldstein of Goldstein Legal is a rising name in the world of franchising, having established a specialist firm which offers complementary expertise in employment and broader commercial issues.”
Goldstein Legal’s services cover business and commercial, franchise, employment and commercial property law.
It is a flexible and agile practice, known for responding quickly and efficiently to its clients’ demands, thus breaking with the preconception associated with traditional firms, of putting billable hours ahead of quality advice.
Roz is an inspirational lawyer. She provides the right balance of an authoritarian and collaborative approach providing the direction and guidance to win cases. Her knowledge of franchising is unique. She helped me recover money from franchisors when all seemed lost.
Goldstein Legal has been our ‘go-to’ commercial law firm for many years. The firm has dealt with a variety of commercial matters for us and it is the professionalism and efficiency with which they handle our cases that ensures our ongoing loyalty. We’ve found that it is not only the firm’s legal expertise but its solid commercial logic that really sets them apart from the competition.
There are very few law firms that are able to provide the calibre of advice expected of a top city law firm while maintaining a tailor-made and personal service. Goldstein Legal is such a firm and we were very fortunate to have had them act on our behalf. I count Goldstein Legal among my most valued consultants.
Roz is able to apply a broad range of legal knowledge/expertise to our business, resulting in practical advice that is easily understood

The British Franchise Association (bfa) promotes ethical franchising practice in the UK, in order that the industry continues to develop credibility, influence and favourable circumstances for growth. It plays an important role in helping potential franchisees recognise the good and the not-so-good franchise opportunities for what they are, while also helping franchisors secure their own place amongst the ‘good’ franchises. As the only self-regulatory body for the UK franchising industry it has a strict standards-based approach to membership, and to attain bfa accreditation, franchisors and professional advisors must put themselves forward to be tested against the association’s extensive criteria.Roz Goldstein speaking at BFA event Only if they successfully pass accreditation are they then able to join the bfa as members, gain access to the benefits of membership and to be represented by the British Franchise Association. Goldstein Legal has been an Affiliate Member of the bfa since 2007 and speaks regularly at bfa-sponsored events and symposiums.
