Solicitor - Dispute Resolution
I recognise that commercial clients are above all looking for their lawyer to secure them a commercially acceptable outcome. I am proud of my track record of being able to settle cases on advantageous terms for my clients. In my many years of practice, I have yet to encounter a client who genuinely wanted to have their 'day in court'. I always aim to avoid court proceedings where at all possible by devising and executing a clear strategy to obtain early and advantageous settlement terms for my clients. In this way, clients can secure an acceptable financial outcome for their business without incurring additional fees and adverse cost risk associated with going to trial.
I enjoy complex matters and am very comfortable in dealing with all cases of all sizes.
I am also a Notary Public. Notarisation is often required for international commercial documents. In such cases I need to verify the authority of the company, its directors or other authorised personnel before authenticating the relevant document. I am also frequently asked to assist in obtaining NIE numbers for use in the purchase of Spanish properties.Careful authentication is the key to my services and enables foreign lawyers to trust that anything that has been notarised in this country can be relied upon.
Often as well as us notarising the document it will also need to have an Apostille attached (essentially a certificate by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office that our seal and signature are the genuine seal and signature of a notary). Depending on the country the document may also need to be legalised by the consulate of that country as well. I can arrange all of that for you.

Greg Saunders was kind enough to deliver his debt collection training to our accounts team earlier this year. The feedback was universally positive, and it was refreshing to see such a practical, empowering approach from a lawyer, rather than the more bog-standard advisory dynamic. In my experience, lawyers being brave enough to teach clients to fish, rather than just giving them fish, is pretty rare and innovative – it was very much welcomed by us and has successfully enabled our accounts team to take a more informed, pro-active approach to credit control.
