Jennifer Smith

Jennifer specialises in all areas of employment law including both contentious and non-contentious matters.  Her particular niche is contentious work which includes executive terminations, disciplinary and dismissal issues and discrimination.

Her client base includes commercial and individual clients and her role involves reviewing and drafting:

• Contracts of employment;
• Policies and procedures;
• Consultancy agreements; and
• Compromise agreements.

She also advises companies on how best to protect their interests through effective use of covenants; and represents claimants and respondents in connection with employment tribunal cases involving claims of unfair dismissal and discrimination.

Jennifer provides a high standard of service to all her clients and with her exceptional client care skills being one of her key strengths.  She builds strong relationships with both new and existing clients; listening to their objectives and being honest and realistic with them from the outset.

She has won numerous awards including:

• 2014 – Manchester Women in Business Awards – Employee of the Year
• 2015 – Insider’s Young Lawyer of the Year
• 2010 – Manchester Young Professional of the Year – runner up

 Jennifer lectures at seminars and workshops and is often quoted in regional press.  From January 2013 to January 2014, Jennifer was President of JCI Manchester and in January 2014, she joined Creative Pro-Manchester as a Committee Member.
