Jane is an Associate Solicitor in the Court of Protection team at JMW Solicitors. She joined the firm in 2008, qualifying as a solicitor in 2011.
Jane specialises in all areas of Court of Protection work. She deals with cases where a Professional Deputy or Trustees have been appointed to manage large settlements from personal injury or clinical negligence cases. This involves the day to day management of any property, investments, welfare benefits, vehicle requirements, therapy, care and other matters. She also deals with Statutory Will applications and gift applications.
Jane’s expertise also includes representing Attorneys in cases where the Office of Public Guardian is investigating an allegation against them. She also completes applications for the appointment of Lay Deputies and, once appointed, Jane continues to advise them on their duties.
Prior to starting her career in law, Jane had an extensive career within the NHS as a nurse and midwife. Her experience within this field has assisted her greatly when dealing with clients who have brain and/or other injuries, on-going health issues or when dealing with the care and other services on behalf of these clients.
