Over the years, Mikhail has also acted extensively for private education institutions in relation to their licensing and sponsorship issues arising under Tiers 2 and 4 of the Points Based System.
He has also gained valuable experience in challenging the Home Office’s investigation and decision-making processes by way of judicial review proceedings in the High Court.
Mikhail is a regular contributor on LexisNexis’s Immigration law and practice and is named on the panel of experts for Lexis PSL Immigration.
Mikhail has also been engaged in a number of high values, cross-border commercial disputes and has gained valuable experience in undertaking general civil litigation work.

Acting for passengers in connection with their claims for compensation under EC Regulation
261 / 2004 in instances where their flight has been delayed, cancelled or if they are denied
boarding.
This has included advising and assisting passengers in all aspects of recovery in the County
Court under both the domestic and European small claims procedure
Assisting team of two solicitors acting for the defendant in proceedings brought against him by his former business associates in which serious allegations of fraud and impropriety were alleged (including the falsification of signatures on legal charges). Assisting with the preparation of trial bundles; attending case management conferences and conferences with Counsel and attending trial at the Royal Courts of Justice, Chancery Division. Also attending without prejudice negotiations.
Involved with breach of contract and damages claims. Instructing surveyors, preparing letters before action, liaising with all parties in order to settle the matter out of court and where necessary, initiating formal proceedings.
