Band Hatton Button

I am a Senior Associate in our Family Department and a specialist family lawyer with over 20 years of experience. I have previously worked in leading family law firms in London and Birmingham.

My work generally focuses on mid to high value cases arising out of family breakdown. My practice includes many cases in which businesses form part of the assets.  I also advise families on wealth protection through pre-marital (‘pre-nups’) and post-marital agreements.

Dealing with all aspects of private law, I advise parents on children disputes including international relocation of families. I have been described as a “rising star” by Chambers and commentators have said “she genuinely cares about your situation and circumstances and she always goes that extra mile.”

I am often referred work by other professionals as they know I will provide the high level of service that their clients expect. I am a trained collaborative lawyer, which confirms my commitment to resolving issues in the best way for the family.  I am also a member of Resolution, an organisation committed to dealing with family disputes. I have lectured the West Midlands Young Resolution and provided seminars to other professionals.

To expand my practice further I have undertaken a Counselling and Psychotherapy degree at Warwick University. I am a firm believer that this course will be of great benefit to my clients.

I have acted on many high-profile divorce cases, including reported cases.

Superb Solicitor

The service I received from Helen Bowns was impeccable and just as importantly she managed to achieve a brilliant result for which I will be eternally grateful.

As a direct result of Helen’s actions I now see my young son 5 nights out of 14 and 50% of all school holidays. Helen’s actions have been life changing and defining for the future relationship between my son and I. I would recommend Helen time and again. A great job done by a superb solicitor.

Smashed targets sees promotions at Midlands law firm

9th June, 2016

A series of promotions and appointments have been made at a Coventry law firm after smashing its financial targets.

Band Hatton Button has promoted lawyers Marta Fisher,

At the same time, Keri Wood has also qualified as a lawyer in the wills, trusts and probate team.

To help meet demand, the firm’s residential conveyancing team has also appointed Jade Dooley who is part-way through training to be a legal executive.

Since joining Band Hatton Button only last year, Marta Fisher has carved out a strong client base in corporate work, advising client sales and purchases of business and shareholder agreements.

Residential conveyancing lawyer Karen Ross has also played a key role in one of the firm’s busiest departments, fuelled by the resurgent property market and landlords trying to beat the stamp duty hike that came in at the start of April.

Mark Moseley, managing director at Band Hatton Button, said the promotions reflected the company’s policy of nurturing talent and career development.

He said: “The promotions are well-deserved for Marta, Helen and Karen who have upheld a high-quality service amid growing demand.  Whilst Keri’s recent qualification is a result of her own hard work and we’re delighted to have her as part of the team going forward.

“This is also all on the back of the recent promotion of head of residential conveyancing Sarah Avern to partner as a result of her and her team’s stellar performance over recent years and her contribution to the firm’s strategy.

“Around three quarters of the work we do comes to us via recommendation because of the quality of our staff, their expertise and the exemplary levels of customer service we strive to give at all times”.
