I was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Scotland in February 2009 and became fully qualified in September 2009. I have practised exclusively in Private Client with a focus on Executry administration and obtaining Confirmation (the Scottish equivalent to Probate) since qualifying.  I can provide advice and assistance on a wide variety of areas including  Wills and Executries, Powers of Attorney, Guardianships and Intervention Orders, Advanced Directives (Living Wills), and Tax efficient succession planning. I am committed to ensuring that all clients are confident in placing their trust in me to advise and take the necessary steps to protect you, your family and your assets.

My particular focus is dealing with the administration of estates when someone passes away which is a process known as Confirmation and Executry practice. I can confidently deal with all value estates from the date of death to the transfer of assets.

I regularly attend seminars and presentations to keep up to date with the changes in law and practice in this area so that I can provide the best and most accurate service to my clients.

I can present information and advice in this complicated and highly emotive area of practice in a comprehensive, plain speaking and empathetic manner whilst maintaining the highest standard of professionalism.

Testimonials

Estate Administration - August 2016

Can I take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of all of us, for all your work and advice on Mum and Dad's estate. It can't be nice to deal with such circumstances I'd imagine (especially with obstructive Government departments!) but you dealt with it and us in a very caring and professional manner. All that's left now is to wish you all the best for your family and future career and again, thank you Jocelyn.

Mr Brown, 2nd August 2016

Power of Attorney

I contacted Thompsons Solicitors with regards to creating a Power of Attorney for me and my wife.  Jocelyn fully explained the procedure and advised what was required from us in a way that was easy to understand.  We received our documents within the timescales advised, I couldn’t fault the service provided by Jocelyn.

Michael Haney, October 2016

Estate Administration

Many thanks for all of your hard work dealing with my uncle’s estate.  With best wishes.
